History
The Romany has been established in Northbridge for over 60 years making it the oldest Italian Restaurant in Perth.
For most of its life the Restaurant was in William Street just near the horseshoe bridge but when these premises were demolished to make way for the new Cultural Centre we decided that we would re locate to our current position on the corner of Lake and Aberdeen Streets.
The Restaurant was closed for 2 months whilst the new premises were completely renovated. When we re-opened and welcomed our customers back they found the same decor, the same staff and of course the same extensive menu of traditional Italian food for which we have always been famous. It was as if we had always been there.
Although the closure of the original site seemed a disaster at the time the move has been a very positive thing. We are now more centrally situated with the blue cat bus stopping outside and are also able to offer al fresco dining which we were unable to do before.
